I have heard with my own ears, the people in the complex say "they don't have to work the government is stupid and pays for everything....the more kids they have the more income tax they might get or foodstamps they'll recieve and half of the people there I believe sell the foodstamps for real money.( I heard they do, but I'm not sure which ones other wise I'd report their behinds) another thing....if they can afford ciggs they afford condoms.

Because there is welfare. Without welfare they will die. Then they wouldnt be having all sorts of kids and concentrate on surviving instead.

It seems to me like you have something against your brother and this is clouding over your judgement. I'm not sure about your brother but all I can think of is that:

1) They have children in the hope that once they reach a certain age they will go out into the workforce and help earn money for the family. If more people work, then there will be more money.

2) Lack of protection. If they don't have a lot of money then perhaps they can't afford protection.

Perhaps instead of judging your brother, confront him and ask him why? Maybe you have already, I don't know, but if you haven't, why not give that a go? And if you've got the money, why don't you share it with him on the condition that he use it to help his family as well as to try to get a job. You two grew up together afterall! Family is too important to throw away.

The problem is that once they accept the government help, the first child starts to get too old for WIC, so they have a second, and so on.

A reason for this mess is that it is incredibly expensive to have a hospital birth. if you are married, the benefits are really limited. a certain amount of help with the first child
would help a lot of young married couples.

My daughter has friends who are having babies.
One gal has to go back to work when her baby is just two weeks old. She and her husband will be working to pay for people who never pay in.

Not all Grandparents can help. Families are not as functional as they used to be in childcare.
Now there's the all day kindergarten, where you put all the sweet little kids with the hooligans and it brings all the children down when they hear all the crap that some of the kids already know about. It's a downward spiral.

They have no ambition in life. They think it's an easy way out of working hard and achieving things. I knew a few people with serious potential in life who chose to have children and go for the welfare route. I think they're lazy! I also know people who had unplanned children and still finished college, found a good job, and became excellent role models for their children without government help. I guess it all comes down to the person and how much they're willing to work for things!

They keep having kids because they're selfish idiots! Bringing kids into this world to suffer and grow up envying others that have more than them, only to grow up just like the parents and thinking the world owes them a living! Becoming more idiots and a cancer to our society. But they don't know any better because remember, this is what they were taught! This is ALL they know. This was their life, their education for the day they were born.

I used to feel the same way, then I realised I was discriminating against people according to their financial status in society. Everyone should be free to have children and the law states that as well by providing financial support for those who choose to. If I were poor (well I am now), I would definitely not have children because personally I would want the best for them. Not everyone feels the same way and perhaps that's what makes our world interesting and full of diversity. :)

I've wondered that a lot myself.

It's a culture. Once someone starts getting a check, whether it's deserved or not, they start feeling entitled.

Before you get you self-righteousness riled again, think about this. Do you get a Christmas bonus? If you do, what would you think if suddenly your boss said "Sorry, we can't afford it this year." How would you feel? Angry? Why? It was a BONUS, something the company just GIVES it's employees. But you felt entitled, right?

And what about the children? Their parents may be lunkheads, but the children are innocents.

lack of education, is the reality. they may be able to fill out forms but it goes deeper than just "they keep having kids and live off of wealfare" poverty brings with it many social ills and low self esteem, what should your solution be to abort?!!!!
you do not know how your brother truly feels about not be able to provide for his family in a way a man should and with that judgemental atitude you probably never will. he will come saying one thing whilst really meaning another.
i cannot speak for africa but i do know that we have to look deeper than just "they are having kids and they are starving," there are many cultural aspects to african culture especially when it relates to children so again do your research before you judge. in africa i am sure in some rural places you cannot pop into a chemist and pick some condoms and what about the lack of education relating to contraception ?- people we must always go past the surface levels to find slutions to problems.

Some people are stupid, if they didn't know any better I could understand, but they do. They are lazy, want to sit around and let others keep them up. maybe they were spoiled while growing up. Maybe the parents did to much for them and did not let them stand on their own two feet. We give our children roots to grow, and learn, then we give them wings so they can fly. If we don't set the roots, and if we dont give them wings, then all they know is what was given. But after we are grown, we can choose.

It's the same as in Africa.... they're all either starving, at war, or in the middle of some famine or disease but they all keep on popping out kids stupidly even though they know they can't grow up properly and will probably die soon after birth.

PS for your Q you should have typed it as @$$ or @ss if you wanted to.
