Maybe she is on welfare and can't afford it.

Buy a deodorant and put it in her mailbox. Or someplace else where she will know it is for her but not who gave it to her. It's anonymous and not public, so there is less embarrassment, but she will get the idea.
If it is appropriate, give her a hug sometime. This might make her think about what happens when people get close to her, and want to make it better.
If she doesn't get the idea, well, she doesn't. She's still a nice person.

Just like walk by her and be like "wow something smells kinda funky over here". Don't just walk right up and say, "Hey, You smell". That's really embarassing. just let her know that a foul oder is being emitted from her general direction and hopefully she'll get the picture. If this still doesn't work, casually leave a stick of deodorant in her desk or something...

Take her aside and just let her know. I have a problem with body odor sometimes and I can't smell it. It is really embarrassing but if somebody lets me know I can go and try new deodorant or maybe take and extra shower on my lunch break. The main thing is you need to sound serious, but not like it is a big joke amongst your coworkers.

Ask him/her if she is using deodorant and what kind she/he uses.If she/he said that she/he is using one,say it in a good way, just the two of you, that maybe the deodorant that he/she is using is not the right deodorant for him/her.And if he/she said taht she/he is not using one, advice her/him to use one not in the front of many people.

Tell her that you had same problem before. Then give her some of your actual experience solution to help her get rid of the bad odor.

I have told people that their "deodorant has failed"..I also tell them I need to change deodorants every once in a while as I become immune to it. They have always thanked me and everything is o.k.

A kind anonymous note. Something like "I didn't want to embarrass you but you stink" Well, you can probably do better than that, but you get the idea.

hmm.....that's hard. In my mind I'd say "Do you smell that?" when I was next to her, but in real life I'd be more passive......ok, next time she's by you just lift your arms up and act like you're doing an armpit check on yourself.....nonchalantly.
