Hi Chaya, NO they are not. Why i say this ,is because they can break and cause the woman to get pregnant. That happen to me and my X husband 26 years ago. We have 2 daughter now. Don't get me wrong,i love my 2 daughters.Don't trust a condomn.

No, they are not. There are several reasons:
1. Incorrect use- you must know how to apply it correctly, otherwise the semen may leak from the border. While coming out, the man must hold the condom, otherwise there is a chance of slipping of condom inside vagina. Incorrect application may cause it to burst while in use. Never reuse. Never apply water to it, as water tends to hamper the integrity of the latex sheath.
2. Defective piece itself- Never use condom with expiry date passed. It is latex, hence it also has a shelf life. In crude words, the rubber rots, and tends to lose its elasticity. A condom with a tiny hole is a rare entity because they are really good in testing an Q.C. measures,
3. Allergy- Last but not the least, some people tend to be hypersensitive to the material, latex. So stay away from it if you are one of them, either male or female. But then dont you worry, as this is extremely rare occurance.
4. Insufficient protection- the condom protects only against the STDs transmitted through body fluids, like AIDS, Hepatitis B, but not against those trasmitted through skin contact, so it is not a foolproof protection against STDs, as some people believe.
Other than this, it is a great birth control measure, and one of the safest and most effective ( if used correctly ).

No, they are not exactly 100% safe but if used properly, they will reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS. Let's just say it's better to use condoms than to use nothing because if you use nothing you have a higher risk of getting an STD.

Not. Some STDs (crabs for example) can be passed on even if you use a condom, and if the condom breaks or has a leak (or is put on improperly) then pregnancy can still occur.
However, they are 98% safe and effective, so they're definitely better than going bareback.
Only abstinence is 100% effective.

If you use a condom properly, follow all the directions and such, the condoms are 99% effective. They occasionally, rarely, break.
Why they are rated lower is because people don't use them for everytime the man enters the woman's vagina. There are some sperm in the pre-*** fluid from a man. So using it from the first entry to the end will work.

No. It's like they told us in school, abstinence is the only 100% effective method.

no, definitely not. they provide upto 90% protection because it can slip off, tear apartor if not removed immediately after the act and the penis goes flaccid, semen can spill .the only 100% sure method is abstinence .

There is no 100% safe except abstain. Condom is probably 96% if you know how to use correctly. If you don't use correctly, it is 66%.
