Vaginal discharge can vary in consistency (thick, pasty, thin), color (clear, cloudy), and smell (normal, odorless, bad odor).

Having some amount of vaginal discharge is normal, especially if you are of childbearing age. Glands in the cervix produce a clear mucus. These secretions may turn white or yellow when exposed to the air. These are normal.

The amount of mucus produced by the cervical glands varies throughout the menstrual cycle. This is normal and depends on the amount of estrogen circulating in your body.

Vaginal discharge that suddenly differs in color, odor, or consistency, or significantly increases or decreases in amount, may indicate an underlying problem like an infection. If abnormal vaginal discharge is due to a sexually transmitted disease (STD), your sexual partner(s) will likely require treatment as well.

The following situations can increase the amount of normal vaginal discharge:
Sexual excitement
Emotional stress
Ovulation

You don't have to have an STD to get a yeast infection. As for not having anything to cause it, as you put it, sorry to inform you sweetie, but yes you do. It called being female. A yeast infection is caused by a shift in the PH of your vagina, causing the rapid overgrowth of the naturally occuring yeast that exists there. Nothing you can do about that, we all have yeast, both men and women. You say there is no itching though, so that leads me to think that it is something else. You say that you do have a boyfriend, and that you "fool around." If youre still having a normal vaginal discharge, clear and not unusual, just these white clumps as you described, then all that is is the semen from "fooling around" falling back out. If it is not used, then whatever doesnt get naturally absorbed is flushed back out of your system to prevent infections. Nothing to worry about. Though, not to freak you out or anything, from personal experience, while pregnant with my children, it was much more noticeable, as "the path is blocked, the road is closed" and since it cannot go any further in than the vagina, it comes right back out, the body won't retain a single drop. You may want to look into it, just to be sure, buy a pregnancy test, and if it is negative, you may wish to look into birth control methods, as you don't sound like you are ready for such a thing, obviously never having had a yeast infection before, you are not that familliar with all the "fun stuff" we women must deal with when it comes to our body functions. And yeast infections don't always itch, and you dont' have to have warts to have a yeast infection. Also, "fooling around" can lead to orgasm, which in some women can cause a white discharge (yes, we have an ejaculatory fluid too, the men dont' have that completely cornered, LOL).

I agree it is normal, however change of colour or odour get it checked out. For anyone else reading....just been informed by a GP that a woman should not have sex during menstration or one full day after as it messes up the PH balance in the vagina and can cause infection and really bad odour. This happened to me 2 years ago and thought I had something bad but again another Clinic said its the Ph balance and gave me tabs. However this Doctor refused to give me tabs and said eat lots of yogurt and garlic to cleanse, but after a week its still bad.

Yes. It is natural, normal and a sign of your body's health.

You should find that it gets thicker, and more like jelly, at some times of your menstrual cycle, and is heavier at some times than others.

If you get to know your own cycle, it will help you know when you are ovulating and when your period is due.

PS Hey sisters, there is nothing wrong with tasting it. Getting to know your own body is not disgusting. Although I would not recommend it in company.....

it could be an over abundance of a certain bacteria in your vaginal cavity.. if you want to get rid of it you could see your GP about some antibiotics but i wouldn't stress yourself about it... i wouldn't recommend tasting things like that, its not very good to move the bacteria ie: if it's in your vagina leave it there.

It sounds very normal to me. Is there more at some times in your cycle. ie mid cycle you might have more. If you are worried go to a doctor but really I think if it isn't annoying you it isn't really necessary except if you are worrying.

its normal, as long the discharge arent itchy and smelly. observe carefully.,discharge usually goes out before or after monthly period. some discharge are sticky before monthly period. my obgyne says if a woman discharge before her monthly period or after , she is very much fertile. but anyway, to avoid the doubts in your mind try to consult your obgyne.
