Any pain relieving tips for sciatica? It's only real bad after I work (I only work about 16 hours a week stretched over three nights) But right now I can barely get out of the chair.

P.S. I am only 15 weeks pregnant, most women say it's to early for this but doctor says it's normal.

I had that happen early in my pregnancy too. The really best thing is to have your husband massage you from the lower back, down your hip to the thigh. It really does help.

I suffer from this as well. I am 29 weeks and have been taking hydrocodone to ease the pain. The Dr. is now sending me to pain management dr. Monday to see what else can be done to help me. I have been placed on short term dis. because I can hardly even walk to the bathroom. The worst thing is that I have a fibroid tumor that is sitting on the nerve right along with the baby. I look like I have twins and I can not tell you how I still long for relief. A bath in warm water helps some and a heating pad helps take the edge off. Truthfully if it wasn't fr the pain medication my Dr gives I probably would cry all the time. Oh and Tylenol pm works great for trying to sleep with some peace. Good luck.

I have Sciatica, and I pretty much just have to deal with it all the time. What helps me is that my gf uses one of those handheld massager things for about 10 minutes. After that I take some motrin (or asprin) and I usually feel great for a long time. I know you're pregnant, so I don't know what you can take. Good luck.

i have had sciatica for 10 years and also got it early in my pregnancy.....i found that going to my chiropractor regularly, stretching my lower back, and putting heating pads on my back helped a lot....they also say doing things like swimming in a pool helps loosen you up and takes the weight off your back....i also might suggest a maternity back supporter (basically it is a bra for your belly, it holds it up so all the weight isnt pushing down on you and your back).....oh, also try and avoid wearing flat shoes. it causes all your weight to pull you down, putting pressure on your back
