You tube uses flash files.
so if u r keen in downloading only from youtube
copy the url from the you tube once it is playing the video and paste it in the bar of this site.

select you tube form the drop down just near to the bar.
once you are done press enter and below you will get one
download link below.click on that and save the file as .flv
once you have saved it .install one flash player and then u can enjoy the saved files.

YouTube runs videos on Flash.
The flash files can be found in your browser cache.
Use Flash manipulation tools to extract the video as a flash movie.

If you have Firefox there are several extensions that will do this. Search "YouTube" in the extensions area of the FireFox site. There might similar extensions for IE, don't know.
