I live with 3 other girls, and they never do anything. Our townhouse is always a frickin mess because they never pick up after themselves. Everytime I ask any one of them to do something (mainly pick up after themselves, which is reasonable), they get mad and tell me that I can't tell them what to do. So when I am home, and I don't feel welcome when I'm here, I mainly stay in my room. So now they're accusing me of ignoring them and never wanting to hang out. How do I respond to that?

You need to talk to them. Not specifically to tell them what to do, but to tell them what you've just told us - that the effort of keeping house needs to be shared, and you don't feel welcome, which is why you spend so much time alone. It might wake them up. Personally, I never had roomies because I knew there'd be personality conflicts, and that I'm a slob.

Well, maybe you should go around and make a mess everywhere, a humongous mess in their space and then when they tell you to clean up tell them that they don't have the right to tell them what to do, then they will see it from your perspective. Try it out for a week and see what happens.

Tell them you don't like to "hang out" in a dirty, disgusting, messy house . When they clean up their mess, you can hang out.

trying keeping your stuff clean and just ignore that their space is dirty maybe you guys can arrange something together, try not telling them, but just sit with them one night and talk about it...
