I've had that problem when I have too much on my mind, lots of things to do, your attention span is gone, you have to really get into it, but these days it's really hard to sit down and just read a book even in bed too. There is way too much going on. I have several audio books, some really great ones, I listen to them on a long trip sometimes. That should be your answer AUDIO BOOKS

I am not a doctor, but maybe you should try to read for about 15 min a day or stop reading before you lose focus of what it is you are reading. Also maybe it is the choice of books you are reading. Choose books that are exciting and that will make you want to keep reading. they also have books on cassette and cd, so those are also options. As for school that is going to be a bit of a challenge because the classes sometimes require a bit of reading, but don't let that discourage you. Some of the text is just so dull that even the most eager reader will close the book. Try to read as much as you can, make sure you are in class everyday if possible, so you can listen to the professor speak and even bring a little tape recorder so you can replay back the teachers lecture. You just have to really try putting your mind too and sticking with it and you can succeed. All the best.

Yes, I have that problem. For me, it's more of a lack of interest and I am told I have adhd and take meds for it. I prefer reading magazines and articles in the newspaper or on the web.

I'm the same way! It's getting through that first chapter that hurts. If I'm not enthralled by then , I put it down. Maybe we're reading the wrong books. Maybe we need to read thrillers. Maybe someone can recommend one for more mature readers like ourselves.

l think you are just choosy in what you read. l dont see anything wrong with that. There was a time l've read romance novesl like there was no end. Now, it hardly interests me. What matters is that you still read. We all have preferences. All the best. :)
