Depends on the woman, my first lasted approx. 24 hours, includding the 5 hours of pushing...that is what a epidural too early gets you...no feeling down there. My second child my water broke & 2 hours later I was holding him. It really depends, good Luck on a fast and easy delivery!

I have the same exact due date!!
My answer to your question is this:
First labors generally go slower than subsequent labors. The speed with which those occur is not predictable and, I believe, depends on many factors.
Having faith and strength in the knowledge that your body was designed to give birth is a first step to accepting the changes you will experience as you move through the stages of labor. Stay positive and calm and your birthing experience will be what it is meant to be for you.
Best of luck and congratulations! Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?

well, it's different for everyone. A friend of mine went for 36 hours with her first!!!!
My first was 6 hours all up, with 10 mins pushing, second was 4 hours all up with 5 mins pushing, third would have been probably 3 hours, but she turned out to be breeched so i had to have an emergency c-section. now i'm pregnant again!! but i'll need another c-section, unfortunately.
subsequent labours are generally shorter, although this also is different for everyone. No hard or fast rules i suppose, which sucks. The best advice i can give you is try not to be nervous, try and stay as calm and as focused as you can, this tends to be a common trait amongst quick labourers.

Wow Congradulations first off I just had my son a month ago.. I heard that labor for first timers definitely goes slow. But it really depend on your body.. make sure you walk alot, practice the breathing exercises, drink plenty of fluids and relax til that big day. I reccomend getting the Epideral shot (mis-spelled the word sorry) but I reccomend it only "as needed" because that med really help with the pain. During these last few weeks dont do anything strainuous to your body because its crucial (sorry my spelling is off today) but its important that you maintain your self and do all mentioned above... good luck on your delivery and I hope/pray for a healthy birth!

Depends on the women. Mine was about 3 and a half hrs from the time my water broke to when my son was out. And that is fast for a first time, as everyone kept telling me.

I was in hard labor for 24 hours with my first child. And thats just the time I was in the hospital. But .... I know women who barely made it to the hospital before giving birth. So I think it all depends on you. You know different strokes for different folks!!

Depends on individual. Some give birth within 1 hour after water bag burst. Some have to wait longer. I waited for 16 hours and end up going through operation cos my baby is too big to be out by normal delivery.

It is different for every woman & every pregnancy. My sister had her first in 10 hours. Then with her second child it took 28. While my best friend was in labor for 30 hours with her first and only 7 hours with her second. So, as you can see, it can fall in a wide range.
