The only race that I ever had a problem with is the human race. My problems are with who the person is inside not their appearance and have friends all over the world from different demographic origins. The fact that he is still employed is so inconsistent with how Caucasian commentators have been fired for their racist remarks. Wish I had the rating to be able to give you a mark for bringing this up awesomebill. Week after week Irvin & Jackson (yes Tom Jackson too) have a racial hoedown. They laugh about it all the time but imagine if Steve Young or Jawariski was to go down that road.
As for ESPN repremanding Irving I actually think it's promoted at ESPN. During baseball season I mute my television due to the one-sided Joe Morgan. It's not like they're trying to hire intelligent african americans they seem to want contoversy. Warren Moon was one of the better commentators around as was ronnie lott and CBS's James Brown in my opinion is the best of all commentators any color (remember when you 1st watched Fox sports sunday this year and thought something was missing...Brown). Where are they? Really it's a slap in the face to the african american community to allow those mentioned to continue. Although Deion is a bit eccentric i don't ever recall him being bias.
The best way to ease racial tensions is for those in the media to leave it alone. I agree Irving needs to be fired.

The sad reality is that in this country today, blacks can pretty much say anything they want even if it is inappropriate like Irvin's comments were and if anyone white has a problem with it..blacks and minority suckups will cry "racism".

The problem isn't Michael Irvin, the problem is the sad state of racial affairs in this country. To fire Irvin, ESPN would be painted by the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton crowd as a racist network because you know darn well Irvin would throw the race card and when the media is made up of mostly hugely liberal minority suck ups...the down side clearly outweighs the upside for ESPN to take any action.

Without question if Irvin were white he would have been shown the door but that is the double standard existing today. Until the white population takes the approach of the Right Reverend Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to throw their stuff back in their face then racial remarks by African-Americans will continue to be condoned.
What ticks me off is these self-righteous African-Americans (in addition to the likes of Jackson) and the media who jump a white person that makes a racist remark but remain quiet when one of the 'brothers' makes a faux paus.
Wake up White America because it is only getting worse.

I used to work down the street from the Cowboys' Valley Ranch facility when he was a player there. His behavior off the field left a lot to be desired then, and I don't think it's improved much in the time since. I don't know what the current hoo-ha is about, but I've always wondered how he could be allowed to represent a tv network with a track record like he has.

If a white man said this about a black man, there would be so much freaking hoopla. Who says only white people can be racist. I do think this was some raicial stereotyping and he should be fired or suspened, the same way a white man would be. Even if a chineese or mexican made this comment they should be fired. The comments were just not proffessional and he needs to be taught a lesson. We need to begin somewhere, make a point through him.

Michael Irvin is an idiot. There are at least 100 other ex football players out there and they get him. I hope he gets his walking papers, he's not a good
commentator and his comments about Romo's great x5 grandma's fidelity was way out of line. (double standard!)

I think he should be. Everything is about race with him. Sticking up for TO alone should have did him in. He takes his subjects that hes talking about to personal, rather than give the facts at hand.

I have never liked what Michael Irvin has had to say: about race, about football, or about ANYTHING.

I don't think he should be fired. This is America. If you don't want to hear Michael Irvin's opinion, don't watch him. I'd rather hear him talk about the Cowboys then hear Shannon Sharpe talk about anything.

His comments are funny. I certainly chuckled. I think people are going overboard with politically correct spouting. You know the old stereo types that a white boy can't jump and a black boy can't count. When you are confident in your abilities and in yourself as a person, these stereotypes are laughable. A confident person is not suddenly gripped by an overwhelming desire to prove himself. That's for folks with zero confidence. They are the ones who do all the talking.
As for Michael Irving, he was a good receiver.
