Apparently there is no cure for the cold. Drink plenty fluids especially fruit juices (Cherry juice and orange juice especially). I normally try a home remedy which may sound yuck to you but I normally crush some garlic and ginger, boil it and drink the fluid. Garlic is a natural antibiotic.
If you are stuffed up try splashing some warm salt water in your face, this clears the nasal passage.
Hope this help

My top tips are garlic, onions, green vegetables, & hot toddies: put some lemon juice, lots of honey, and a splash of brandy in a mug, stir them all together, and top up with hot (not boiling) water. Sip it slowly just before bedtime, and you'll boost your vitamin C, soothe your throat and chest, and the brandy will help you to get a good night's sleep. Works an absolute treat!! The odd bit of echinacea will help too, but not too often, as with most natural remedies, if you over-use it, it'll stop working, as your body will get used to it. The odd spicy dish will also help your body to sweat out some of the cold. Green tea is supposed to help too, but if you're not used to it, it'll make you feel even more like death warmed up, as it'll do such a good job of de-toxing you. So best to avoid that unless you drink it ordinarily. I do recommend green tea though, but when you've a cold, that's probably not the best time to start. Home-made chicken soup is good too.

Put 1 med size onion in juicer, 4 little things of fresh garlic. Then take the juice and add 2 tbsp. melted honey, and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. Put ingredients in glass jar, shake and then store in fridge. Take a spoonful in morning or night. This is an old Norwegian remedy. I have been using it since before I could remember. Never had cold or flu. Be kind give your partner some or you could be sleeping alone.
Take the bits of onion and garlic that are left over and fry them up a bit and put in ice cube trays and freeze then use for soup or over other foods.

At the first sign of a cold, take the chinese herbal remedy "Yin Chiao Chen". You can find it in health food stores for around 6 dollars for a package of ten doses. Each little box in the package contains 7 pills. Take all seven pills in the small box, 3 times a day. Cold will be gone in 2 days.

First thing to do, prevent it to increase. do this by rubbing the bottom of your your feet with Oil and wear socks. Avoid making your feet wet and stay away from cold water. Drink luke warm water.
Then you may have green tea without milf. you can also have soup.. but avoid soup which has sour taste.
A very effective way to reduce cold is inhale STEAM.. you get steamers in the market. Take steam as many times in a day as possible. Take it for atleast 5 minutes.
Have ayurvedic medicine which kills diseases slowly but completely.
Cold heals by itself but it prolongs, visit a doctor else the cough inside will convert you into an bronchitic patient.

Boil about 2 cups of water with a tsp of fennel seeds and your favourite brand of teabag, then add a cup of milk and bring it all back to the boiling stage. Once it's boiled, simmer for 5 minutes and take it off the hob to cool. Sieve the Fennel tea into a mug and add your prefered amount of sugar or honey and drink it while it's warm. Then sleep or rest. Don't have more than three mugs of fennel tea in 24 hours because it will dehydrate you. You feel the benefits the next day.

Time is the only thing i'm afraid. but then all the old remedies help too. If i feel a cold is just starting or maybe just starting, i go to bed early with a little tot of brandy and hot water and sip it while i read a book. Somehow it seems to warm up my whole body and fight a cold.

To be frank there is no remedy for cold. There is a popular saying: "If you take medicine it will be cured in a week, if not it will take seven days". So, you can take some hot soups with lots of pepper as garnish or use inhalers for a temporary relief.

If you have a stuffy nose/sinusses then eucalyptys and lemon oils mixed in a burner or on a tissue will clear your head like a treat.
And i agree with the chicken soup too. Do a home made one with carrots, leeks, cabbage and swedes. Use chicken on the bone, the marrow has a lot of easily digested nutrients in it. You can contact me if you want a recipe.
And rest ... if that is an option ;-)
