I have to have cryosurgery done to treat dysplasia, and I am trying to figure out what to expect during the procedure and after it. Will the procedure be painful, or will the recovery period be tough? I want honest answers, don't be afraid of scaring me, because I do want to be prepared for this. I know it is a common procedure, I am just concerend about not knowing what exactly to expect. Thank you all that may help in this matter!!

HOnest? It hurt like hell- cramps my ***. Childbirth was less painful. IT took me several days to be able to walk about comfortably- luckily my mom came with and stayed a few days after - and I was already 25 when I had it - sometimes, mom just helps.

Do get help around if you have children, you'll not be feeling up to the normal stuff for days.

The slough off was , well, like your worst period but ickier. And you will have cramps at least the first 24 hours.

Good luck, my sympathies, hope it takes care of your problem.

My dr told me it would feel like a slight menstrual cramp. He lied. I actually passed out from the pain. Only time in my life I've done that. Maybe now days they have something to prevent that much pain.

When its over its over. No pain. No after effects.
