How Can I Make My CAR gO F@sT3R ?? !! ?? !! ......?

i have a chevy lumina Ls 97, V6, it is 4 traccion automatic and i wanna make it go faster, i already changed the intake air filter and it has a good sound and now goes a lil bit faster when i'm accelerating but that's it, i don't know anything about cars and i was wondering if any1 who really knows about this tell me what are the things my car can be capable of and how can i start to make it faster, don't tell me things like buy another car, sell it, trade in, change the exhaust, lighten it up or any of that crp cuz basic things like that almost every1 knows, i live in jersey if any wana help me out or tell me about good shops around the place, parts shop like body kit and stuff like that and if is cheap i would apreciate it, i also need to buy a passenger mirror, it is electrical.

i had the exact same car and i was in your position. In all honesty though, luminas aren't going to get that much faster. well... they will... but the money you'll invest in making it a little faster is like a down payment.

underdrive Pulleys give you good power (like 60 bucks) you get like a good 15+hp/tq

Swap out the engine (3.1 to 3.8). That'll get you hella more power. (when you step on the gas vroom). plus some 3.8's have the supercharger edition which is like 240 hp/280tq stock.

The thing is there's not too many aftermarket parts for luminas. 3.8 engines are a diffrent story. so if you were to upgrade the engine. 3.8's have like intercooler/ turbo charger bolt-on's. i used to be all into fixing up my lumina man! until it blew a head gasket... oh well. goodluck though

sounds to me like your trying to build yourself a rice rocket. THAT IS HORRIBLE! yea the body kit will SLOW your car down that is more weight. The air filter wont due much of anything. If you already know about doing your exhaust properly then youve got it covered. But in reality you dont becuase you think that just an air filter is going to give you real gains. That is wrong. But hell put a cold air intake, new high flow header, new exhaust, throw on a turbo and an intercooler, that will give you some performance. Or throw in a v8 that will do it too.

Since you say you know the basics, such as modifying the exhaust and the other ‘crap that everyone knows’, we’ll skip the new cam lift/duration/overlap specs based on the intake and exhaust combination you choose. We’ll also skip the cam degree, injector size, ignition timing, advance curve, and underdrive pulleys. What that leaves us with are the advanced options. Unfortunately, there’s not too many available for your engine, so you’ll have to stick to the basics. I know you didn’t want anyone to mention the fact making your car lighter will help, so I won’t mention the decrease in horsepower to weight ratio a body kit will result in and only mention the fact it will increase your aerodynamic drag, making your car slower.

This is a sure way to make a Lumina go faster....
Go down a big hill...coasting (with the motor running,duh)
And you can get 10 more faster miles out of that if you stick your head out the window (window has to be down already)
And you can get 20 more miles faster if you yelll, Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Trust me ...this works on most Luminas
And it's economical on gas too!!!
