I know it's been said several times over. But I think the biggest qualification to be a politician is that you must be a good deceiver. Y'know, the basic: act like you want what the majority wants while forwarding your own selfish agenda. Case in point is our current president.

For President minimum age is 35, natural born citizen of the USA
Lie, cheat, steal. Do it all smiling and patting people on the back. Kiss babies.
There are no pre-requisites for becoming a politician.
Prime example: Bush II

No. The only requirements to become a politician are you must be incompetent & corrupt. At the same time, you must be competent at being corrupt.

In India u require criminal record (at least rioting, if its murder, much better). Or u have to be son/daughter/wife or a politician(nephews are also acceptable).
