Howard Roark is my pick because it rhymes with 'Hard Work'. Ayn has not just invented the character but created him in Fountainhead. Strong not with muscles but with 'steel'. Atlas Shrugged too is second to none. I would rather strongly recommend one to read Ayn's 'The Virtue of Selfishness' to understand both the characters better.

I just finished re-reading Atlas Shrugged. I read it the first time 12 years ago in college. I must say that I found myself much more attracted to Hank Rearden than Galt. Rearden is much more realistic than Galt. That becomes more true the older you get. I will now re-read the Fountainhead. Rand's ideals lose some fire as one ages and faces reality. But I am still open and studying. Thanks for the question.

Roark. He's much more believable than Galt and hence one that more people can identify with. And personally I liked Fountainhead much better than Atlas shrugged.

Definitely Howard Roark, he just has so many layers to his character, and for me is synonymous with integrity, dedication and standing up for what you believe in.

Atlas Shrugged is a great book. I like both because they both represent humanity.

Don't know... can't get through her books to tell you.

The only thing less annoying is Gertrude Stein. I don't care for either style or their content... They both give me migraines!
