Do you love Turistas, Saw... that movie where they capture and torture the rich tourists who want to torture other rich tourists? Why watch these people get mangled and die? I don't get it, I really want to know. The commercials are sick enough...
I've heard that Saw is genius plot twist wise, but other than that, whats with the gore?

I never referred to it as "torture" movies. But I guess I do. I dont think people are thinking anything like "oh this is sick" I know I wanna see Turistas just because me and my girl like scary movies. dont read too much into it, just get scared and have fun.

Because people like gore.
The wonderful part about my self is that I close my eyes and relive my experiences in Iraq. Its the most realistic "torture" movie I've ever seen in my life.

I close my eyes through most of them! Saw 1 and 2 were creepy! Hostel made me wet my pants, scared to death!

I prefer a "kinder, gentler" type of torture movie myself, such as "Secretary" or even that gut-splitter "Exit to Eden," what a hoot!

Because people are becoming numbed to violence. Remember, we are in a war. People have to top the last thing to get people's attention. Look at reality television...

I think it is for a rush some people like to be scared. For me it is hoping one will scare me I do not scare easily and have not seen one that scared me yet.
