doesnt' seem right to me since even AA has Nyquil on their list of "no nos" as far as meds recovering alcholics should stay away from. I don't know about dayquil but I'd deffinately ask him again about the nyquil.

That doesn't sound right to me at all. Most doctors do not want you taking anything except maybe some tylenol since that is considered mostly safe. I have heard that minor dosages of things like Dimetapp or Sudafed can be taken but only like half the dosage and for two days.

No its not hon, at 38 weeks, with my daughter, I developed Strep throat, God I wanted to die, I felt horrible. The OB/GYN called in antibiotics, and Couch medicine with CODEINE of all things...I was nervous about it, but trusted his care...all worked out...Your baby is perfectly safe, NyQuil and DayQuil no longer have a decongestant in the contents. So if your nose is really clogged up....have him call you something in...Good Luck.

Wow... that seems really odd to me, I have always been told, sudafed (when okayed by OB) & Tylonal. Nix the NyQuil & buy a cool mist humidfer a bit pricey but that is what you will use fore baby when he/she is sick!

You did right by checking with your doctor what meds you can take while carrying a baby. DId this doctor wrote you this presciption for this OTC medicine? Ask him to write you a prescription... and then if you don't trust your doc? try and ask for a 2nd opion with another doctor...Maybe it's time to change doctors if he's wrong.

I wouldn't. I would call a 24 hour pharmacy to make sure but I know there is so much you can't take while pregant especially early on. Good luck, get feeling better.
