I am using geforce 4MX graphic card. But it is outdated!
So I want to buy a new mid range graphic card.
Which card is better for playing latest games?
I am thinking of ATI radeon X1600 pro 256mb.(brand-palit)
Is it worth buying? Is it fits on my AMD 64 processor's motherboard?
What is AGP and PCL-E?

Ok here's the run down. The ATI radeon X1600 is a "crossfire ready" graphics card. What this means is that (paired with a crossfire ready motherboard) you can basically run dual graphics cards (meaning twice the graphics power). AGP and PCI-E are two different types of data slots on your motherboard. PCI-E happens to be the quicker of the two and ALSO the way the X1600 is formatted. (You MUST have a PCI-E slot to use it). Depending on where and how much you get it for, it is quite the steal. It IS a good card for playing games and will allow you to change settings to improve the look and feel of your games (if you are knowledgeable in that sort of thing) BUY IT! Buying a graphics card for gaming depends entirely on the games you are planning to play.

AGP stands for Accelerated Graphics Processor. This is the slot on the motherboard that is used by most graphics/video cards.

PCI-E stands for Peripheral Component Interconnect-Express. And is said to be a faster connection slot than AGP.

AGP stands for Accelerated Graphics Port, or (Antiquated Graphics Port) It is the old interface used with videocards. You need to make sure that your new card is AGP based and not PCI-express, which is the newest type, as I believe the MX is only AGP based.

check in which slot was the geforce vide card was fixed, was it on a PCI slot (white color slot) or on a AGP (green or black slot) slot, AGP is also called as the PCI express,
it is always better to use pci express if u have one on your computer, never just buy video card that is ver good , first check if it is compactable to yours system, coz if it is not compactable it is of no use, to know if it is compactable check the mpothervoard configuration on the internet,
try Gferco 7300 256 mb , it is amazing , BUT MAKE SURE IF IT IS COMPACTABLE
