I live in McAllen and really need to get a wii because I have to deliver it to a cousin. Do you think Nintendo will deliver more wii systems to the stores in McAllen before Christmas time? What is my chance of getting one without having the need to make long lines for hours? I would really appreciate your help. Thank You!

Try smaller stores like EB Games or Gamestop. I was able to get a Wii a few days after launch there. According to the folks at the store, they have been getting in 2-3 Wii's every other day or so. But be proactive and find out when their shipments are coming in. Give them a call every day to find out and if you can, stop by a bit after they come in. They seem to be more helpful when you show up in the store rather than call (everyone calls, no one stops in). I also was able to get a rain check at Toys R Us that guarentees to get me another Wii before Christmas. I don't know if they are still giving them out, but it's worth a try. One other recommendation, if you see controllers available but no Wii's, still buy them!!! It was harder for me to find extra controllers than the Wii itself. And I guarentee the system is MUCH more fun when you can play with someone else! I hope this helps and good luck!

I work for a large retailer and I doubt you will be able to buy this in a store before Christmas. They look like they are fun though! Sorry!

Nintendo expects to ship 2,000,000 by year end. So far they have sold 600,000. New shipments will be arriving every week. There is a good chance you will be able to buy one without having to resort to ebay.

I am in the same position as you - I need to get one as well for my son before x-mas rolls around...

Good luck to you! I think we have a good chance...

Dont get one online. Put priority & creativity into finding that perfect small electronics store nearby and seeing if they will be getting the system.

It may be very tough unless you preorder it online quickly for the next batch of shipment.
