Amnesia as a Main or Secondary Theme:
'The Neverending Story' by Michael Ende
'Anastasia' (the one that's based on the animated movie)-I forget who

Amnesia as a moderate theme:
'Peter Pan' by James Barry
'The Last Unicorn' by Peter S. Beagle
'Solaris' by I Forget Who

A book which features amnesia, but doesn't necessarily have it as a main theme:

'Wicked: the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West' by Gregory Maguire

"The Face of a Stranger" by Anne Perry. A Victorian era mystery, in which a police detective has lost his memory and must use his detective skills to find out about his own past, as well as the case he is working on, since he dare not confide in anybody about his memory loss. This author is very effective portraying the lifestyles of the era.
