They are asking for a photo for their recruitment process purpose.........
As they have to keep track of whether the same person who attended the interview is working with us or not.............you see......there is always a chance of malpractise in recruitment too
I am sure if you haven't given them any photos........they would have surely checked your photo ID like your driving license

Depends on how many people they are interviewing for a position after a long day of interviews it helps to have a picture attached to your resume and application connect who you are with the paperwork they have.
I'm terrible with names. I've spent over an hour interviewing someone and still had to look at their name on paper 15 minutes after they left. If I had a photo with each one this would make individuals stick out more that made an impression.
I think it's a good idea under some circumstances.

That's really not appropriate. Especially in todays sue happy era... In my opinion they're opening a can of worms. If your employment has to do with modeling, or acting it may be okay, otherwise, I just don't think it's appropriate.
I was a recruiting manager, and I always took notes during an interview to remember the person and their answers, there has never been a need for photos. Discriminating issues may arise in such a case. I know that we train our managers to NOT do anything that may jeopardize our Equal Opportunity Employer Status. In today's market, they've even suggested to not list your address because alot of people can discriminate based on where you live. I would politely ask why they need it.
(side note) Once hired, we do take employee's pictures for id's to be worn at all times while on employer's premises. Still we don't ask for photos.
Good Luck!

This is the first time I have ever heard of an employer asking for a photo of an applicant!
Not sure why they would need it. Unless the job entails something media like such as newscasting or modeling.
Before you submit it, ask they why it is necessary.
Hope this helps.
God Bless.....

That sounds very odd to me. Is there anyone in your field or that you know who works for that particular company to explain? It's definitely a delicate question for you to ask while you're waiting to be hired
Otherwise if you can only approach them, can you find some way to ask or phrase some questions for them that expresses genuine curiosity on your part as opposed to suspicion or mistrust of thema and which will still get you the answer you seek?

If it's for a modeling, acting or any career that requires public face time, that's understandable. But, if you're looking to work in an office, raise the red flags, man. There's no reason you should be turning in a photograph.

It depends but sometimes it helps people remember your answers. Also if a higher up has to approve it they can look to see if you have the grooming style for the image they want to present.
