approximately 1.32 American dollars. Or 1 American dollar will convert into .76 Euro. If you are planning on traveling, the conversion rates will be different everywhere and the commission(what they charge to convert) will be different every place you.
In Amsterdam, on the initial streets off the train station there is literally a place to change money every 30 feet and each place has a different conversion rate and commision. Some even have signs where the numbers keep changing to make it look like the rates are changing, who knows, those signs may actually be correct but once you do the exchange it is incorrect. There are also places that will say they don't charge a commission, believe me, they do. That's how they make their money.
A last tip if you are traveling, use your credit card whenever possible. There is no commission and no rip-off with conversion rates. Your card company treats you the same as if you were in the States.

this site will give you current rates and rate history. Do the graphs they are interesting.
Right now 1.32 dollars will buy you one euro. or you can roughly think of it as a 30% markup on everything you buy and that would be the dollar value.
