okay..so my formal dance is this sat. and i have a question...my dress is white w/ black designs...my date is gonna wear a maroon color..will he match w/ me..like look good or does he need anther color? HELP!

technically when paring an article of clothing with a black and white pattern it is best to choose the solid piece to be either black or white, even though black and white separately do pair with any colour combined you must pair with a solid black or white, or their is just to much of a collaboration of colour and pattern in the outfit/s, what he can do is solid white or black and acent his and your oufits with a red or maroon flower.

I wore a black and white long dress to a wedding. My husband wore a black tux with a maroon tie. I thought we looked terrific together and so did everyone else. Black and white are neutral colors and I the Maroon will blend in very nicely with both

Yes it matches, but it would look so much better if you could add a splash of dark red, maroon to your outfit, like a pretty rose behind one ear or some great heals, a small beaded clutch in maroon or a piano shawl. Something to carry the color just a little not all of these things. have fun.

I think that the two colors will be fine together. black and white is classic and almost any color can go against it without looking too harsh.
Whatever you do stay away from any red accessories or even red lipstick. Red and red = no.
Also, try to accessorize with black, as this would probably stand out less that red and white.

You two will look fine together.
Just don't over-do the whole "Matching Outfits" thing... You'll end up looking like an old couple at a square dancing competition.

well, anything goes with black and white, so yes it matches. but i can't be positively sure because i can't c the colors myself..lol

it would match better if he wore a black suit or a white suit. I don't think the colours clash too bad.
