How to prevent mild shocks in the laptops?

Umm, just taking a stab here, but..Dont drop it?

Seriously, I try not to move my laptops, or set them down hard while they are running. Doing so could cause the hard drive's read/write head to scrape across the surface of the disk and render it unusable.
I watch people all the time walking around with their laptops on and then slam them down on a desk to do something else. Not good at all.
