I am old enough that they should be regular by now, but they aren't. Why could they be irregular and how can they be regulated?

I have irregular periods but I don't recommend you taking the pill. I was put on the pill when I first began my period at the age of 13 without my consent. I continued taking the pill because it, of course, turned into my birth control. Now I have these irregular periods and my new doc tells me it was because I was on birth control too long. I was not supposed to be put on birth control to regulate my periods at the age of 13. I suggest you ask for some Progesterone tablets (what my new doc gave me) to regulate your period. They work.

Some women, no matter how old they get, still have irregular periods. There really isn't any way to regulate a period without going to your gynecologist and asking about birth control. If you go, be sure to let the doctor know that your purpose in taking birth contol is to regulate your period, as not all methods of birth control do that. Of course, I believe if you're over 35, especially if you are a smoker over that age, gynecologists more than likely won't put you on it.

Yeah, I've been mensturating for years and years also, but it's never been regular. Usually this is caused by either being too overweight or too thin, but I'm in very good shape and I eat well, plus I get loads of excercise. It's strange. You can regualte your periods by going on the pill, which helps in regulating your cycle.
