Do you find that many, not all, parents are dearly, yet simply, raising their child, yet are not focusing on the fact that they are also raising a future adult. Raising their child with the thought that they are raising someone's elses (in the future), lover, spouse, co-worker, room-mate, neighbor, in-law etc. Raising a future adult who is relatinship savy, financially savy, intimate (tender hearted) savy . . . etc. Have faith, yet concern of this awareness.

I know I do....teaching my sons to take care of themselves...they are 9 and 7. They do their own laundry, hold doors open for women, men, older people..they say please and thank you. Told them to be respectful to girls and never hit a girl no matter what. LOL I can go on and on.....I am a single mom and think I am doing a damn good job....hopefully they will make some woman happy....MANY years from now_

im a mother that is raising a boy to be a man, and hopefully if i do my job right he'll be raised into a "REAL" man and not a boy trapped in a mans body..

I think there are lots of problems with the way people are raising their children these days, theres seems to be a lack of respect, a lack of accountability, and a lack of morals..

And dont get me wrong, A child needs to be a child, but our job as parents is to prepare them for the world and hope that we did our jobs correctly so that when they do go out on their own that they dont fall flat on their face, and that they have the knowledge to handle situations as they come their way.. and u cant do that if ur treating a 16 year old either like a 5 year old.. or like a 30 year old, they need the proper building blocks..and the appropriate responsibilities, and accountability for their age.. let go to fast, they become boys trapped in mens bodies.. dont let go soon enough, they end up falling flat on their faces from not knowing how to handle life when it smacks them in the face..

yes I am having those concerns right now with an 8,7,3 year olds. I am trying to teach them compassion, being able to laugh at yourself, being no-judgemental, not being cliquish in school but rather get involved in a lot of activities to meet a lot of people. The wife justs teaches them that money, clothes, and gossip make the world go around. Needless to say, opposites attract, fall in love, but sure as hell aint gonna make it through the long haul.
