U'll need to get a good book like ANSI C by dennis ritchie....they stress more on programming skills and ofcourse a c compiler installed in ur pc to practise the excercises....u can also join courses...offered by some reputed institutes like NIIT..APTECH... if at al u wanna have a certificate in the same ...

For starters, you need a compiler. I'm a big fan of Dev C++ (C++ is a newer, better version of C)
Then, all you need to do is go to some C or C++ tutorial sites. there are plenty out there that will walk you through the basic "Hello world!" program all the way up to creating your own address book and even into game programming.

You can get the basics by doing a 1 or 2 month course in a good institute. Then, you can get yourself a good book on C and skim through it. Its a difficult language, because its not a pure OOP, so it requires dedication.

Learn c throgh Ravi Chandran adn E.Balagurusami is a best choice I suppose.

One of the best books, Ive read when I was starting out was,
Let Us C , by Yashwant Kanitkar.
Start with that, or as mentioned by others, look at those links, n yes, practice n practice.

dig into sample code and practice coding the examples over and over. Then try to understand what it is doing.
