Jupiter probably helps keep the solar system stable,
helps clean up asteroids and comets that might
otherwise hit earth. Maybe without Jupiter the
solar system would be a lot more packed with nasties
and the earth would keep getting clobbered. Then you
would not be here. Also if the solar system were unstable,
then ditto.

Absolutely nothing! The planets are not there for our benefit or amusement. How could anyone be that self-centered to think that the universe is there to play a part in each of our individual lives? Go to the Astrology board. You are asking this question in the wrong place.

Yeah, by random chance they help clean up the asteriods and take some space-bullets for us. That's about it.
