320 = (0.4 + 2x)^2 / [(0.05 - x)(0.04 - x)]

Multiply both sides by (0.05 - x)(0.04 - x).

320(0.05 - x)(0.04 - x) = (0.4 + 2x)^2

Multiply out both sides and sum like terms.

0.64 - 28.8x + 320x^2 = 0.16 + 1.6x + 4x^2

Subtract RHS from both sides.

316x^2 - 30.4x + 0.48 = 0

Multiply both sides by 100 to rid decimals.

31600x^2 - 3040x + 48 = 0

Divide by 16 which is the common factor.

1975x^2 - 190x + 3 = 0

This is now the quadratic in its final form.

To find the 2 values for x, use the quadratic formula.

x = {190 ± √ [190^2 - 4(1975)(3) ]} / (2*1975)

Thus, x = 0.01991005 or 0.07629248

320=0.14+4x^2/(0.002+x^2-0.09x)
0.640+320x^2-28.8x=0.14+4x^2
316x^2-28.8x+0.5=0
=>3160x^2-288x+5=0
