Bat poop is also known as guano.

Guano is not present in mascara.
This is an urban legend started because one of the ingredients of makeup is called guanine. It's a chemical which is derived from fish scales and is completely safe. Because guanine sounds like guano, people mistakenly thought that guano was in mascara.

Guano is full of ammonia, and that would really be painful if it were included in mascara!

Some mascaras have used bat guano in their formulas in the past, but most companies use synthetic ingredients instead. I recommend checking out the ingredients in your mascara to make sure it doesn't contain guano.
