My husband loves to pluck around on his guitar. I usually get him guitar related gifts, but I am fresh out this year. He has a pedal and an amp already. Any thoughts.

here's a thought, Find a jeweler and have them fashion out of gold or silver a guitar pick for you. Oh and have it inscribed. I hope this helps out good luck!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you to get an epiphone, don't do it! Secondly, I have played guitar in many styles for 7 years, and I don't think it really matters where you start. I started on the acoustic, then played traditional classical, and then got my first electric. But that is the traditional way to do things. If I were you, I would go that path, because it is full proof, if you stick at it you will succeed. If you try to play on the lighter strings of the electric first and then move to the acoustic's strings, which are much thicker, you may have some problems. Acoustic guitar gives you a good base for the rest of the music world. But, I was you once, and desperately wanted an electric. You seem to have a handle on music in general. A good model to start with would be a schecter or an ibanez. If you are looking a little pricier, go Fender American Strat. Good luck!

There are tons of different pedals and effects. You've still got so many options . Go down to the music shop and ask for a few suggestions . Tell them about his musical influences and preferences, you'll find something easy enough.

If the electric is a high quality one, have something inlaid on the headstock. Friend of mine had a Gibson Les Paul Custom, and his wife have them put a dot on the "i" in Gibson on the headstock, just so it would be a little different than every other Les Paul Custom out there.

does he have a electric acoustic already? or you could get him a sound changer for guitars or just a better guitar then what he has...
