I had this conversation with one of the kids I work with once. He was 8 and I told him to always keep his fingernails clean so girls will like him and keep his house neat just in case he had surprise company. Then I told him to give me advice. He said, "always listen to what kids say."

That was two years ago and that bit of advice drives me on some days when work is so stressful. Sooooo, I want to try this again and hope to get more great advice....

Give me some good advice...about anything.

This is all of the advice I have been giving over the years worth keeping:

1) [Regarding difficulty with decisions] - sitting on a fence is a prickly place, its not comfortable to have a picket up your butt. Just pick one or the other, its probably not as serious as you think.

2) If someone is trying to give you money, and there really are no strings attached, take it.

3) people talk a lot, its distracting, if you want to know what people are really about, turn off the volume and watch them.

4) Dont take yourself so darned seriously.

5) let other people be right sometimes, even if you know you are. Sometimes its better to be happy than right.

Do you know who you are? Have you ever ask this to yourself?
The authentic self is the you that can be found at your absolute core. It is the part of you not defined by your job, function or role. It is the composite of all your skills, talents and wisdom. It is all of the things that are uniquely yours and need expression, rather than what you believe you are supposed to be and do. Don't let work stressed you, take sometime to admire the beauty of nature! bird watching, fishing, or read a good book!

Here is some advice: Always wait for the subway a safe distance from the edge of the platform. Someone tried to push me in front of an oncoming subway train once, a few years back.

Always make sure you hug your loved ones living with you at least once a day, and never leave the house mad at them.....you might not come back and those left behind will feel guilt forever.

1. Don't take it seriously. If nobody's bleeding or dying, there's no need for tears.

2. Step away from the f-in computer and get some fresh air and exercise and talk to some in-the-flesh humans.

Write down what you want in life.
Start out simple, like goals you would like to achieve this year.
As time goes along, add longer term goals, eventually goals you would like to achieve your entire lifetime.
Throw in impossible goals, if you achieve all your goals, then life is boring.
Remember, if you don't write down what you want in life, others will decide your life for you.
