Does anyone have any personal ghost stories/experiences? (Seriously. If you don't believe in ghosts then just disregard this.)

I'm just curious. I've had several experiences of my own and was wondering about any other stories from anyone who wanted to share since its something most people don't want to talk about. Thanks for the responses!

This all happened during this past summer (august), here in
Cardiff, UK.

At about 7pm, me and my friend decided to go into the woods
at heath park as we were very bored that day, and I believe it
was one of the hottest days on record for the UK so we were very
hot and bothered.

We trekked into the woods until we came to a huge tree, we sat
by the tree for nearly an hour cooling down and it was also next
to a large pond. At about 9pm we realised that it was very nearly
dark, so we decided to make our way back home.
We had about a 15 minute walk to get back out of the woods
and nothing strange had happened until i noticed a figure about
200 yards away from us back from where we had jost come
from, i thought this was strange but thought nothing more of it.
About 4 or 5 minutes later, i looked back and saw the figure
again but this time it was closer, i thought this was strange as
there were no people close to us when we were at the tree so i
decided to tell my friend. Josh (my friend) thought i was messing
around with him and did not believe me at all, this was much to
my frustration.
about 3-4 minutes later again i looked to the side and the figure
was about 50 yards away only it was in amongst all nettles and
bushes, i was really scared at this point as we weren't even half
way through the journey and it was very nearly dark, i told josh
to keep looking around and to speed up our walking pace. afew
minutes later Josh saw the figure on the other side of us and we
were both really really scared, so we ran. When we got into the
open filed which would lead us to a road, we ran about half way
into it and looked back and we both saw the figure standing on
the edge of the woods, so we ran all the way home.

The figure that we saw was very weird because every time i saw
it, it was perfectly still. We could not make out the face, or
gender of this thing, it was just in what looked like a blue cloak.

I have been back to the spot afew times since in the day and
nothing strange has happened but me or Josh will not go back
there at dusk again.

please email me with any questions, thanks.

Once when I was younger my friends and i were staying over night in the old train station museum. We were telling the usual ghost stories, and all the lights were out so it was really dark. Also the station was a ways from the road and the lights in the parkinglot were out because of a burned fuse. Anyway, one of the girls was telling a story about the ghost train. No sooner did she end the tale then we all felt the ground tremble like a train was coming. You could hear the engine puffing as it came closer, and the clickety-clack of the wheels on the track. So there we were huddled together in the darkest corner of the building while this train was passing by, its horn a blaring and the lights on the red caboose blinking.

The next morning we asked the museum director about the tracks, and how many trains passed by there of a day. He looked at us like we were nuts. Apparently the tracks had all been taken up except right there infront of the museum, so if it really was a train we saw and heard that night it could only have been a ghost train.

Once my dad and I were on the front porch smoking and I thought I saw a man standing in our driveway, I looked back and nobody was there so I didnt say anything. Not two seconds later my dad said "Holy **** i think I just saw a ghost in our driveway"

When I first moved into a house, I got this aweful feeling that someone was there in my room. It gave me a horrible feeling and one night I started crying and begging it to leave, and that was the last time I felt it's presence. Before it left, my stuff would always move around.

It happended sometime last year.. around the Hungry Ghost Festival in Singapore. My cousin, who has long hair, was coming back home late at night, after the work obviously. She entered the lift to her 13th storey house. The lift was the newly upgraded one in which there are two windows and mirror panels around. Out of the sudden she felt someone tugging at her hair. but no one was in the lift except her. As she was struggling to loosen the grip of that "something" she happended to get a glance in the mirror. What she saw was unbelievable! There a was woman behind her holding her hair. In the end she managed to loosen the grip, open the lift door and she fell out of the lift onto the 1st storey.

Another scary part of it was that, though she felt the vibration of the lift, the lift was moving at all but was on the first storey all the while.. but she did press the button..

This is not a first hand story, but it came from my cousin's wife who is a nurse.
When she and her husband first married, they lived in her Grandmother's house. Her Grandmother had died and the house was empty. Soon, she gave birth to a baby girl and she put her Grandmother's old rocking chair in the baby's room so she could rock the baby to sleep when needed.
When her daughter was about 3, she was looking at some old pictures and her daughter was with her. She came to a picture of her Grandmother and the child said "That's the Wady who wocks." The cousin questioned her and got the story that this lady would set and rock in the child's bedroom. The little girl was never frightened by the presence of her dead Great Grandmother.

You might want to go to yesterdays resolved questions in Mythology & Folklore. I answered a question from Orangenose about experiencing paranormal activity. Its too long to retype and I think you could call it a real life ghost story. Or are you looking for something other than this?

When I was a young boy I was laying in bed. I seen something moving across the room toward my bed and it sit down around my legs. I actually felt the bed go down as if someone sat down. It was an old woman and she looked at me and smiled. I was scared. Then she got up and left. Years later my mother and me were looking at family pictures and she was showing me relatives I not know and telling me who they were. Then she showed me her mother and said; "This was your Grandma on my side of the family, she died before you were born". I was shocked, it was the old woman from when I was younger. I really not know what to think, but, it seemed very real. As the years have gone by, I not think of it much, but, have told a few people. I never told my mother.

i think i was visited by 3 different spirits (not all at once & no they were not the ghost of Christmas past, Christmas future, and Christmas present). The 1st time was when, my step-father died, he and i did not get along well, and i said plenty of mean things to him before he died, after he died he haunted me until I prayed for his soul. The day I prayed for his soul, the prescence left me and my nightmares stopped.

Another time, one of my clients (I work with seniors), was being abused, and I helped her out of that situation, after she died she visited me at work, but only for a split second, but her face was happy and glowy, i couldn't believe my eyes.

And once, at Christmas (maybe it really was one of the 3 Christmas ghosts), my son and i saw what we think was an angel looking in a non-ground floor window.

All three were very eerie experiences and made the hair on my arms and at the back of my neck stand up and i had spine-tingling chills each time.

I do, its a small boy. I've seen him peeking from the side of the wall, through the railing of my stairs and kneeling next to my son as he slept. Just this morning, I was walking to the kitchen and when i turned the cornor, it was there, scared the crap out of me I thought it was my nephew. It seems like he is playing peek a boo. I have seen him in the back seat of my car too.
Me and my sister got the Oujai and this is what we got: Its a boy, 5 years old, his name is Johnny and he is a protector.
