Q : 7x + 4 = 15x + 36

first, move '+4' to the right side of the equation.
and you get:
7x = 15x + 36 - 4

second, move '15x' to the left side of the equation.
and you get:
7x - 15x = 36 - 4

third, do the subtraction.
and you get:
-8x = 32

forth, change the the left side of the equation to positive and the right side to negative.
and you get:
8x = -32

then, divide -32 by 8 so that you get 'x' equals to ___.
and you get:
x = -32/8
= -4 [the answer]

7x + 4 = 15x + 36

7x + 4 - 7x = 15x + 36 - 7x

4 = 8x + 36

4 - 36 = 8x + 36 - 36

- 32 = 8x

- 32/8 = 8x/8

- 4 = x

The answer is x = - 4

Insert the x value into the equation

First, you need to get all of the variables on one side of the equation. But you have to make sure you do the same thing on both sides.

First, subtract 4 from both sides:
7x + 4 = 15x + 36
7x + 4 - 4 = 15x + 36 -4
7x = 15x + 32

Next: 7x - 15x = 15x + 32 - 15x
-8x = 32

From here, all you have to do is solve for x:
-8x / -8 = 32/-8
x = -4

Does this make sense?

combine like terms like 7x + 4 = 15x +36 move the 7x over to the 15x and subtract then you get 4 = 8x + 36 then move then 36 to the 4, you will have a negative number but that no biggy. you then get -32=8x. after that you divide the 8/8x to get x by itself and the divide the 8/-32 and your answer should be - 4

7X + 4 = 15X + 36
-15X + 7X = 36 - 4
-8X = 32
X= -4

Oh wow I have not done textbook Algebra in years:
7x + 4 = 15x + 36
7x + (4 - 36) = 15x
7x - 32 = 15x
-32 = 15x - 7x
-32 = 8x
(-32 / 8) = x
-4 = x

Since both sides are equal, what you do to one side must be done to the other.
7x + 4 = 15x +36
subtract 7x from both sides
4 = 8x + 36
subtract 36 from both sides
-32 = 8x
divide both sides by 8
-4 = x
x = -4

Like this:

7x + 4 = 15x +36 subtract 7x
4=8x+36 subtract 36
-32=8x divide by 8
x=-4

Get the x's on one side, and the numerical value on the other and then solve for x:

7x + 4 = 15x + 36

-32 = 8x

( I took 7x from BOTH sides of the equation in order to be left with the x term on one side only. I did the same thing with the numbers taking 36 from BOTH sides of the equation in order to end up with a numerical value on the other side. )

Next we solve for x by dividing BOTH sides of the equation to solve for x:

-32/8 = 8x/8, x = -4

7x + 4 = 15x + 36
7x - 15x + 36 -4
-8x = 32
x=-4
(you just move the things around)
