I tell people I'm Austrailian sometimes. Other times I say I'm Spanish. One time I said I was South African. And people believe me. It's fun.

No. I'm proud to be an American of Polish and German descent.

P.S. You need a hobby, club, or some other sort of activity or group.

Oh, man, get over it people! If you are not constantly asked by strangers "what are you?" then you don't really even understand the question. I am proud of who I am as well. However, when I get asked 5 times a day about my nationality and even get followed by people who need to know so badly, my answer will depend on my mood and how polite the person asks. I am Polish, Lithuanian, and African American and occasionally when asked I will say something that I do not look like at all like "Chinese." People just look at me puzzled and that's fun! Other times I have even made up a place like "Mahatania" and people fall for it.

If some stranger has the freedom to walk up to me and ask me a personal question, I have the right to answer it however I see fit. Intent is important here-- saying you are Chinese when you are not because you are sick of the question is not the same as saying you are Chinese when you are not because you are ashamed of your true heritage.

I've never done it, but once in a while I'm tempted. I speak Spanish as a second language and after I've talked to people a bit on the phone (I'm a social worker), people ask me where I'm from. I learned Spanish from my high school in Canada and then from learning in Latin America, but I'm always tempted to make up an island - maryyamba or something and see if they believe me. I never would though because they are nice people and I'd feel bad fooling them.

maybe you look like it, or you're just about almost a bit of everything,

anyways, no, i don't like to lie about my heritage because I'm proud of what heritage i am, I'm a descendant of Makah Cheifs, some French king or something, and many other things, i got nothing to hide, the only races I'm not are probably only other Tribes, and a couple of other things(because people might take what races I'm not the wrong way)

No, i think lying about your heritage is just like lying to yourself.
There is no point in this. It just shows that you are ashamed of who you are and that u have no self esteem.
But if u are using it as a joke then that is no problem! But i have never done that!

Sounds fun. Keep in mind that I don't really have any heritage other than "white american". I always wanted to learn to do accents anyway.

All the time. I've gotten away with everything from Colombian to Lebanese to Greek to Filipino to Chinese to just plain "mixed."
