He just turned 1 and his nose is fading. Is this normal? He's a golden retriever. Thanks for your answers.

I have heard plastic bowls can change a dogs nose color....Is his food or water dish plastic?

Is your dog kept outside? Does he have a light colored nose? This could be the result of sun damage and you may have to put sunblock on his nose to keep the problem from progressing. If there's any ulcerating of the skin, this is a sure sign, and you should take him to a veterinarian.

My twin Pugs Charmaine and Cheri rubbed a lot of the black off their noses because they spent a lot of time with their faces pressed against a screen door so the black leather was somewhat sanded off. I put a;piece of cardboard at pug nose level and eventually they got their black noses back. Meanwhile they looked like they'd swapped noses with a couple of Weimaraners.

are you talking about fading on the fur? or the color of the nose it's self? well both oare normal it's just a sign saying that he is maturing and finaly starting the adult time in his life

it is normal
it could be from digging in the ground
that is what happens to my dog sometimes.

could be dry from digging .Put vaseline on it.
