i bought a hp laptop a cople of weeks ago..i cant get it to play music videos on yahoo or aol or anywhere...but it will play videos from myspace and on certain other websites..any suggestions on how to fix it. it also say my audio mixer is not detected when i try to do voice chat??

Sounds to me that you need to reformatt your laptop completly if its not detecting you audio mixer.

The medias that you are playing from AOL and Yahoo are of other formats that are not supported by the default Windows media player codecs however the myspace and certain other websites have their medias either in wma or mpg format which is supported by Windows media player. To.fix this problem you have either install k-lite codec package or quick time player i would prefer you to install both

I have an HP laptop to! Here's what you have to do, look in your internet explorer or any of your web browser for the plug-ins. Or else download a plug-in that will help support the web player. DOWNLOAD the player here http://www.apple.com/quicktime/win.html
The HP comes with a bundle of software, drivers and OS. Try using your software CD and search for media players. I hope my suggestions might help! If ever you still have problems email me at butchqt08@yahoo.com

If you just bought it, call HP to have them talk you through it. They may not have installed the audio drivers properly.

does it work with a different dvd? or a cd? Might need to down load a program like power dvd or cyber dvd to get the codecs, they will also enable the windows media to play as well.
