if you're needing this paper for welfare, you need to get the person who is paying the bill to write a statement that they are paying the bill, and at the amount they pay...if you need it as a legal contract, the payer should write a statement, sign and date it, as well as the one who's bill is being paid, take it to a notary so you can have it notorized

Thats right, most dont normally care who pays the bill. BUT...if your bill is already in collections. A collector will not discuss the bill AT ALL with anyone but yourself and a spouse.

The reason for that is the laws that govern collectors and agencies. Its called the FDCPA. (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).

There is a law against third party disclosure.

So you just type up a letter saying something like....I....your name here....Give "power of attorney" to whoever and explain the reason and sign the bottom.

The collector has the option of accepting that or not accepting it and your out of luck you need to call in yourself.
