Here is an article that I found, it is from 1997 but the numbers shouldn't be all that farr off players-wise. However, it also goes into blacks on the business side and I think those numbers have gotten better.
I have enclosed a second link. It takes you to articles done on ESPN.com by Doctor Richard Lapchick. I just so happen to go to UCF where he runs the DeVos Sports Institute with an emphasis on community involvement. He has been involved in sports and civil rights for the past almost 40 years and if you are asking this question out of a couriosity about the issue of diversity and sports then I would definitely check out some of his articles and google his name for even more. I have seen him speak twice and he is truly an awesome person.

80 percent in pro basketall
70 percent in pro football.
US blacks make up about 13 percent of US population
blacks are truly great in sprots.
whites is great at running their big mouth on ESP.N.

Race shouldn't be an issue when it comes to sports, you can't blame African Americans(not saying that you do, just in general) that they are naturally talented, than most races. You're either good at something, or you're not.
