Am I crazy because I talk to myself, make up different identities in real life, feel supierior in one of my other identities, like I can never die and I'm immortal and will live forever because I'm cursed and damned forever. I feel like dreams have a purpose in real life and that they are the meaning of life, and when we all figure out our dreams, we will have conquered life and can control and have the life we want.

Not a gag. I've just always wonder if it's normal to be like this.

Crazy people do not have the ability to discern their behavior as crazy. They project it outwards and view themselves as sane in a crazy world. I would say you are not crazy, but eccentric. You have not lost touch with reality; however, you do not allow it to define your every waking moment.

Perhaps you are not in the appropriate line of work, which offers your imagination a playground necessary to breathe. A stifled creativity can certainly lead to insanity—this has been documented throughout history. I suggest finding a creative outlet for your eccentricities and make them work for you. By putting them on a medium of sorts, you establish a distinction between what is you and that of a mere aesthetic creation. There is no detriment to going down the rabbit hole—the most innovative ideas are discovered there—however, one needs to know how deep to go and when to come up for air.

On the other hand, if this behavior is causing you needless stress or is interfering with your daily activities—perhaps a more psychological issue than creative—than take a step back and ask yourself a few simple questions:

1. Why do I talk to myself?
2. What purpose is served by making up multiple identities?
3. Why do my dreams need to have a purpose in real life?
4. Why is it important for me to figure out and conquer life?
5. Why is controlling life the only way I'll have the life I want?

Now for the Wicked Questions:
1. What if all that I spoke to myself, I shared with another?
2. What would happen if I stopped making up identities and just lived mine?
3. What if the purpose to life was not in dreams at all, but was discovered by living life?
4. If I wasn't trying to figure life out and conquer it what would I do with my time and energy instead?
5. If controlling life is not a possibility, how will I ensure my happiness?

You sound like you might have some disassociative issues, meaning you don't track a coherent and reliable reality at all times. It sounds like you have an active imagination and you are partially aware that you are imagining ("I make up different identities") but sometimes lose track that you are imagining ("I talk to myself"). I can tell you that if you figure out your dreams you still will not have conquered life. Life is mainly about dealing with problems rather than conquering and avoiding them. If this whole posting isn't just a gag you might want to get some counseling.

I think you're going through life on your own terms. You define your own reality and are satisfied with it. Perhaps that is what feels most empowering to you. You sound like you'd make a great artist, writer, or the like. There's a lot of potential for creativity in your extreme imagination. Just be sure to check in with mainstream reality from time to time so you don't loose touch with others. The creative mind adds to the collective experience but it can sometimes alienate you from those who can't follow your train of thought, so keep an open mind and and open door to others.

I don't think you're crazy, cause crazy folks don't usually ask if they're crazy. Delusional maybe....
