im good at being well doctor phil in others relationships but i dont take my own advice...does anyone know why?

It's easier to see problems with other people's relationships, because you are looking in. When you are the focus, it's hard to look in to yourself. Plus, if it's a bad relationship you are in, you don't really want to know the truth, it hurts.

You are simply projecting your own perceived relationship shortcomings onto your friends. "Dr Phil"ing them is your superego's way of telling you that you recognise what's wrong with you, but are unwilling to do anything about it.

Try asking them to analyse your relationship.

I love Dr. P. too. When you are in a relationship, your not object-ive as Dr. P. looks at a situation.
