I'm 'white' skin color myself...Yet, in your opinion, why is white skin color the overall 'favored' skin color in the common mind. Actually the skin colors of black, brown, olive tone, yellow tone etc. are of more color than white is. You'd think that the 'common public' thought might be of pity with the thought of . . . "Oh, those poor 'white' skinned people, they don't have any color and we do" and then we 'white' people would be made 'skoffed' at or 'put down' because we don't have any or much color. The focus of any color of a person is really silly anyway...but skin color getting the attention that it does...why would'nt 'whites' be 'outcast' for not being favored with a color. Wonder your thought.

White was never favored by other races. Whites assigned themselves the 'favored' race by killing and brutalizing the unsuspected natives on all continents after those natives accepted them as visitors in their land. Once whites were 'in' they took over and used their might to show the natives that they were 'better'.

Now the offsprings of those who survived the onslaught of whites are rejecting whites more and more. And whites are also slowly rejecting their skin tone as well.

I think one day whites will reap their just rewards for all the damage they wreaked in the world

I wouldn't say that having white skin (as in the light ivory skintone) is favored anymore (and I mean within the caucasian race). Look at all of the women going to tanning beds nowadays to tan their skin. The lighter skinned of different ethnicities are more represented in the media, and seem to be favored unfortunately. In every culture, whether it's latin, european, asian, and even sometimes african (especially in America) the lighter skinned of their respective populations are seen more in the media. I even read where there were a few latinos in the United States that didn't know that such a thing as a "black" latino existed, as they had never seen one before. Same thing with some people in the world not knowing that there are dark Asians, not just the light yellow complected variety seen in movies and other media. The examples are almost endless. All skintones are beautiful in their own way (not to be corny) and should be properly represented.

In America, indeed the "White" skin color is not the favored. Americans and other alike always fall for what they see on their TV sets. Today, if you start reporting that the Green people of space are superior which many think Americans alikes are the first to beleive it and take it.

Do you think anyone would think of anybody's ways of life, if there was no TV's. Look the MILLIONS who wants to be Black, because they see the great ethletes, million-dollar contract musicians, unique culture etc. It is how the MEDIA things does.
Bollywood of India is a good example too, I never thought a dark-skinned Indian ever existed, because I HEVER NEVER seen one on their BILLION DOLLAR movie industry, the largest in the world.

Quite simply, skin color is the result of natural selection. Those with darker skin fared best in ecological niches closer to the Equator and in continents that lie further to the south because they needed protection from sun exposure; thus, they had greater reproductive success. Those with "white" skin are naturally more sensitive to sunlight, which is a result of the need for greater sunlight sensitivity for vitamin D synthesis in colder, darker climates.

Otherwise, most scientists insist that there is little scientific basis for the categories of race and the pros and cons that are attached to them.

The grass is greener on the other side. However, I discovered it wan't grass but weeds.

People always want what they don't have. That's why many people with darker skin tones want lighter skin tones. However, in many European countries, people want darker skin tones. Because, it shows they can afford to spend time in the sun and not always in the blithering cold.

Go figure. IT's all got to do with cultural and social ideals. But these change. According to asian culture, it's not good to have darker tones as it shows that you are of a lesser class (as you worked out in the sun), which is opposite to the Europeans. However, now in China, darker tones are becoming more vogue in the main cities as they adopt the same ideology as the Europeans (men anyway, most asian women want light skin tones.)

Again, go figure?

Or is it a punishment to have color? Hmm... your thoughts lack extensive thought. Think of all possibilities. Probably has to do with the fact that the white man took the initiative and made themselves the main race.

Black is the absence of any color, white is all colors

anyways, the color really has very little to do with it. as far as first world countries, white people are most of the time the dominant race by numbers

Well, from my experience, not really. 'Whites' look more like "pinks' to me. except if albino. I don't really put down or favor whites, btw.
