She is 12 likes to go on myspace and stuff like that and I dont like it, but I am not the mother so I cant do anything about it. Please help with this.

NO! IF she is already going on MySpace and stuff like that -- a Camcorder for a 12 yr old is NOT a good idea -- and I suspect that she is being PREYED on by those out there in Cyberspace and on this site to figure out what she looks like too (and yes, they DO look for very young, STUPID girls this age and PREY on them -- and the results are NOT nice ...).

Where is/are her Parent(s) in all of this? Why are they NOT limiting her Chat Time and MySpace Accounts -- whatever? A 12 year old is VERY VULNERABLE and this is just astounding that they would NOT be concerned at this time ....

Only if she's really artistic or has the brain of an 18 year old. I don't see what a 12 year old would do with a camcorder. What use would she have for it? What would a 12 year old need to record? Those are the real questions.

if youre concerned you should talk to her parents about it. what does a 12 year old need a camcorder for? unless if shes into making her own movies with actual plots but most 12 year old girls aren't. most 12 year old girls like to make movies with them and their friends dancing to music. she might put it on youtube and have a lot of perverts watching her. she might have good intentions but theres just too many perverts online trying to get kids to do things..
maybe the parents can get a camcorder and have the 12 year old ask when she wants to use it. that way they can surpervise her use.

No. The camera WILL be dropped and a fortune will be spent on batteries.I gave my 15 year old son a digital camera. He took the chip out and mailed it to a girl he met on myspace! Now the camera in my dresser drawer. Never allowed to use it again.

not the mom, that must be hard. NO CAMERA, if she's on myspace who knows what she's up to. that will only lead to bad things that you don't want or think about. 12 years, should be outside learning about boys, her community, friends etc. not on the computer. a camera will lead to nudity>porn, so again NO! think lady, what did u do at age 12?

Hell no. That's like a cell phone for a 6 yr old. Don't buy anything you're not comfortable with. especially with your hard earned money. You could break the mold and get her something non-electronic that she may like. What girl doesn't like bath stuff for example?

Her parents need to be educated asap for her protection. Why are they letting her do this anyway?

No, there are questions like will she take care of it? What will she do with it? what if she miss uses it? And if she wants it for my space she could just be opening her self up potental harm not all guys on there are good. You already know how you feel about it ,now just express your feelings to her mother. Good luck.

When I was 13 I used to record myself in the nude and stuff like that I loved cameras. I still do it nowadays sometimes. But you should not need to worry about that shes only 12 but you never know. I am just being truth full.
