They used to do those two (voting list and drivers lcienses) but there were complaints that method did not make a representative jury pool. Now they use some kind of thing (like a town census that lists all inhabitants) but won't say exactly what thing to keep people from subverting the process.

In our county, every 3 years a panel compiles a master list from both drivers license & voting registation. Then names are randomly picked from that list.

Hmmmmm i've got faith a cat might do a reliable job of it,a minimum of they could be hassle-free approximately it, cats are enthusiastic approximately justice! yet actually a cat now it quite is a chuckle,think of if the proprietors basically grew to become up with the cat what a humiliation for the courtroom, my cat i've got faith might grasp the jury all the way down to purrrrrrrfection and be a whisker above the rest! paw prints everybody?

If you are registered to vote you could be called. Also when you go to get your drivers license you are automatically registered to vote.
I wasn't registered to vote for years but had a drivers license and never received a jury summons. After I registered to vote, I started getting summonses, so to me that means you have to be a registered voter to be called.

once you have registered to vote you are on the list for active jury duty. normally every 7 yrs or so you'll get a letter to report. doesn't mean you'll sit on a jury though.
