u ovulate 14 days before ur next period. getting ur period means, that u already ovulated and didnt fall pregnant, so ur uterine lining is breaking up.

to work out when ur ovulating, take the length if ur cycle (number of days from the 1st day of ur period to the 1st day of ur next period), and subtract 14 days. that's the number of days after the 1st day of ur last period that ur most likely to ovulate.

so, if u have a 30 day cycle, and subtract 14, u most likely to ovulate 16 days after the 1st day of ur last period. e.g. if ur last period was on 1 nov and the next is due on 1 dec (30 day cycle), then ur most likely ovulated on 16 nov. (Although i normally built in padding of 2 days before and after, just in case, for normal variances)

to check if ur pregnant wait til u miss a period and take a home pregnancy test. alternatively u can have a blood test done by a doctor

Ovulation tests only test for when your egg is released, it doesn't tell you if you are pregnant. That's what pregnancy tests are for.
Ovulation occurs exactly 14 days before your next period, which makes it hard to judge when you are as you can't predict when you are getting your next period exactly.
Depending on the length of your cycle, which can be 21 to 36 days long, is when you should start to ovulate. For example, 28 day cycle means that you should be ovulating around day 14. Don't forget to count day 1 as the first sign of bleeding.
Wait and see if you are late having your period then try a pregnancy test. If you do have your period then wait approx a week after to try an ovulation test.

Figure out when your next period is due to begin and count back 12 to 16 days. This will give you a range of days when you will probably be ovulating. If you have a 28-day cycle, the 14th day is often the day of ovulation.
As your cycle progresses, your cervical mucus increases in volume and changes texture. The changes reflect your body's rising levels of estrogen. You are considered most fertile when the mucus becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy. Many women compare mucus at this stage to raw egg whites.
For maximum accuracy, follow the kit's directions to the letter. However, if the instructions say to test your first urine of the day, you may want to test your second catch instead. Your urine can become concentrated overnight and might give you a false-positive result.
If you feel that you are pregnant just take a pregnancy test, it doesn't hurt.
Good Luck

Don't take an ovulation, take a pregnancy test. Ovulation tests only test WHEN you are ovulating, and NOT when you are pregnant, and vice versa a pregnancy test WONT tell you when your ovulating. The Ovulation tests are for women that are tiring to get pregnant so they KNOW the best time of the month to have sex.

you begin to ovulate about 1 week after your period stops. So try to test again right around there. Everyone ovulates differently some people even ovulate when they are on their period.

You ovulate roughly 2 weeks past your period. The bleeding is the lining of your uterus shedding and rebuilding in anticipation of receiving a fertilized egg and growing the embryo. Then in about two weeks you ovulate and if fertilized the growing embryo will implant in the newly rebuilt uterine wall.
