I was planning to visit my family, but I don't want to go when it's snowing or extremely hot. Maybe temperatures around 60 or 70 degrees would be good.

Come around Columbus Day when the leaves will be turning. It's absolutely gorgeous then. Be sure to get out of the city and check out a bit of the upstate where cider mills will be open. Many serve fresh donuts and just pressed cider. It's wonderful. Plus, there is nothing like the smell of fall...outside of the city. It's one of the things I miss about the upstate.

we went right before christmas 2004 and new york was gorgeous! yeah it was cold, but it was still beautiful with the rockefellar center decorations and big xmas tree and stuff. we still took the double decker bus tour and did everything as normal...we were just a bit colder doing everything! but that was an awesome experience and we're hoping to go back soon!
