Its all very well for the courts to send back Misbah but life in Pakistan is a lot better than in cold Scotland. She will have a much better social life and a lot more friends there than over here. She will be with her brothers and sisters so her mother is being selfish. I know she loves her daughter but she should do what is best for her not for herself. I have lived in India and know that life there is a lot better than here. Sometimes we are brought to places to live through circumstances and not choice. Not meaning to offend anyone...sorry if I have.

Where does everyone get the idea that I am a Yank????? I am NOT a Yank. I have lived in India for 17 years and probably know a lot more about their customs than any of the people who answered here. Many Indians who came here are from artisan or farmer families who were not well off but people who are well off in India and Pakistan would not want to live here by any means.

I think she will be better of in Pakistan with her dad and this is what she thinks too. At 15, she is old enough to make up her own mind.

A lot of people in the UK have a false impression of what it is like in Pakistan, India etc. There are plenty of horrible places to live in each country (including the UK and US).

Why are the yanks allowed to come onto the UK site and have the cheek to attempt to answer a question on a subject of which they have absolutely no knowledge then have the cheek to tell as that they "have a life" even after they admitted to having no knowledge ! ! ! Rashik has the right idea, so I know I'm not alone with my sentiments.
Now to the actual question:
The girl is under age and whilst in her Mother's care she went against the law of the land in going to Pakistan on her own AND without her Mother's permission. Therefore there should be no complaint when the Pakistani (or whoever - Lahore or somewhere!) courts sent her back home, No doubt she WILL have a better life elsewhere, but she went about trying to get it the wrong way and has come unstuck for her troubles.

i think the courts will listen to her because she is a human being after all and however it turns out as soon as shes 18 she will be off again if she wants. Hopefully she wont resent her mum for loving her and wanting her back home safe and she will understand why but there is always a possibility and her mum needs to be prepared for this. I'm sure she will understand eventually as she is probably unaware of the customs and values to their full extent and would be better prepared for a life in Pakistan if she has chance to look into it before she makes her finally decision about her future

I have a child of almost 15 and he sometimes does not know what is best for him so it's up to my wife and I to guide him and hope as he gets older he will see what we have done for him has always been for the best. I don't think that girl really knows what is best for her. She is in a hot country which most of the population are poor and her life style seems to be that of a wealthy family, over here with fashion, and the freedom we have I belive later she will see things from new eyes and where women have a say in what goes in with there life. She will not have that over there and then it will be too late. only time wil tell.

if you had read the mothers comments on this matter she says in an interview that the custody case is still going through the Scottish courts and as part of that process molly will be allowed to speak to the court about what she wants.

I do not think any woman is better off in Pakistan. Men can kill or mutilate female relatives for little or no reason. They call it honour killing and that the Koran allows them to do it. Another example of this peace loving religion.

Yes. She is human, she alone should decide where she wants to live. All this meddling by idiot "Judges". A Judge should have intelligence and wisdom like Solomon. It is an easy case. I would just ask the girl what she wants to do and tell her if she changes her mind, let me know and we do it again. Simple really.
