for everyone who says don't lie to your kids about santa,I have never seen it as a lie,I loved believing in santa, when we told our kids about santa we told them thatJesus and us was santa,Jesus because he provides everything for us to be able to go and buy the things they want. There is nothing wrong with giving kids something to believe in.And if your kid came home crying b/c someone said santa was dead I wouldn't just blow it off, they are kids and shouldn't have their hearts broke because of insensitive people. thanks for all the answers look forward to more.

I'd call those hypocrites out. They must be very insecure about their beliefs if they are threatened by Santa. They harp on and on about believing in this higher being, that no one has seen. I'm talking about God, not Jesus (most Christians of late seem to think that they are one and the same, which they are not.) Jesus did walk on this Earth. These same people try to say that Santa is dead. My understanding is that Santa Claus, is a saint; Saint Nicholas.
I grew up in a Christian home, but we also believed in Santa.
Santa wants you to be good so that you can be rewarded on Christmas morning. You can't see him. I think those ideals gave us the outline of what is expected of us from God. The bible outlines the many rules we must adhere to, or face the dire consequences of the failure to do so.
Santa just focuses on the positive reinforcement of those biblical bylaws. If we are good all year, get a reward. Nothing wrong with that.

I'd be outraged that anyone from any organization used a school bus to distribute anything that wasn't educational! Contact the school & church in question to complain officially of this matter..Dealing with children is up to the parents,I for one feel the story of Santa is a harmless way of making children happy at a time when spirits soar..to each their own though..

I would be VERY upset with the church. They have no right to hand out stuff like that. But as for the young kids, I would tell them santa isn't real. It's better that they know earlier. I figured out when I was 7 that santa wasn't real, but instead being upset or angry about it, I felt like one of the adults at christmas because I got to help fool the other kids.

I would at first be really mad because no one has the right to tell kids what to believe or not except their parents and family and their backround, religion etc. No one should spoil a holiday for anyone else regardless of how they feel. I would find out where the flyer came from and make sure my outrage is known and I would sit down with the kids and tell them that Santa is real and explain why I believe!

I'd be very upset! I'd talk to the school. Even though it was from a church, they were using the school (bus) to distribute the flyer's. Santa is all about kids and fun. My kids are grown, but hubby still enjoys dressing up and going around playing Santa.

First I would contact the school and report what this boy is doing on the school bus. Second I would call the church and tell them the boy passing out fliers at school is not appreciated, thus separation of church and state. So it needs to be stopped. Then I would explain to my young children that this boy was just being a bully and trying to scare the younger children, etc.

Santa is real, explain the meaning of Santa and Christmas in a spiritual sense. Kids may be young, but they will understand.

I would explain to my children that not all Christians are hateful party poopers....and i would retell them the story of Santa Clause how it all started with a man trying to be nice to children on Christmas and give them gifts..and how i really didn't think that it bothers Jesus when people like Santa for bringing gifts just so long as we don't ever forget the real reason why we even have Christmas. but that's just me

Tell them what we used to tell our boys. If you no longer believe in Santa, then he'll stop bringing presents to our house. The only gifts you will receive, will be from mom and dad. No problem.
