Ideally, it should be the first day of your period but you can start it any day as long as you have enough days before you ovulate so you can see the jump in your temperature. There should be approximately a .4 jump in your temp for several days to show that you ovulated. Good luck.

I would start at the beginning of your period for the most accurate results. Some people ovulate during or right after their period. Make sure that you take your tempature before you even get out of bed ( I always left mine on the bedside table). Do you have a natural planning chart to keep track of your results? I think that you can get one on the web under www.epigee.org/guide. They are better than the ones that come with the thermometer. Make sure to note change in your normal routine because it can make a difference.

You can start anytime!

If it's not likely that you've ovulated yet (less than two weeks since your period) start soon, and keep track of your chart as you would any normal cycle, looking for the dip and then the temperature staying above coverline for at least three days. You might catch ovulation. If you're using a site, like FertilityFriend.com, you can chart your temperature and also add things like cervical mucus, to make it easier for their program to pinpoint ovulation.

If you think you've ovulated already, start anyway! It'll get you used to waking up at the same time, taking the temperature, charting it, etc. I started a week before my period originally, sort of as a "dry run". I used that time to learn how to do everything properly.

Good luck!

I haven't done it in a while, but you could probably start now, but you should take your temp the same time every day, I think it was supposed to be right when you wake up...you won't see a change until you ovulate...your temp will rise slightly...There should be instructions in the package if you still have it...those were pretty helpful for me! Good luck!!!

Hello - Please forget this idea. I can tell you how to get pregnant. It's pretty easy. You need to go out and buy the Ovulation Kit called FIRST RESPONSE. What this kit does
it tests your urine the very first thing and when it turns
BLUE then you can have your baby.It doesn't give you gender. It gives you a baby. It really works as my time clock was ticking. I have 3 healthy boys to prove it.
So, Good Luck.
