To use 'meh' is to literally show that whatever it is you are disussing/commenting on is not even important enough for an actual word or response. It is a very care free and non-chalant way to respond to a question or remark.
Meh is the new 'whatever' .

meh is just kind of an polite explicative. instead of saying poop or something worse you can just say meh and most people will just think you are weird but not obscene.
